When the water in the Rhine decreases, the inland vessels can no longer be fully loaded. This is referred to as low water and results in an increase in transport costs. We will be happy to keep you up to date if there is low water on the Rhine and thus low water surcharges for freight shipping. Which of the two water levels is decisive for your transport depends on the place of departure for exports and the destination for imports. Register for our Newsletter and receive a daily update when the Kaub water level falls below 160 cm and/or the Duisburg-Ruhrort water level falls below 280 cm.
